  1. Installation Guide For CD

  4. 1) Install the VGA card into your PC properly
  5. 2) Power on your PC
  6. 3) Launch the Micorsoft Windows
  7. 4) Insert CD into CD-ROM drive: . (Assume your CD-ROM drive is on drive D:,
  8.    if it is not, change D: to other drive letter.)
  9. 5) Run D:\mssetup.exe
  10. 6) The Setup program will detect the VGA chipset
  11.    and Windows version, and display a setup window.
  12. 7) Follow the on-screen instructions to complete 
  13.    the installation.

  15. Special note for Windows 95 users
  16. =================================

  18. Due to the plug & play feature of Windows 95, if it is the first time you 
  19. install a new VGA card and then launch Windows 95, Windows will find a 
  20. new device is installed and ask you to insert the driver diskette. 
  21. In this case, please insert the Setup CD into CD-ROM.
  22. (Assume your CD-ROM drive is on drive D:,if it is not, change D: to other drive letter.)
  23. then input the driver source as 
  24.     
  25.     D:\Driver\S3Vga\S3TRIOV\WIN95    (if you install a S3 Trio64V+ card)    or
  26.     D:\Driver\S3Vga\S3TRIOV2\WIN95   (if you install a S3 Trio64V2 card)    or
  27.     D:\Driver\S3Vga\S3VIRGE\WIN95    (if you install a S3 ViRGE/DX/GX card)

  29. After that, Windows will prompt you again to select the device type, please select 
  30.     
  31.     "S3 Inc. Trio64V+ PCI"   (if you install a S3 Trio64V+ card)        or
  32.     "S3 Inc. Trio64V2 PCI"   (if you install a S3 Trio64V2 card)        or
  33.     "S3 Inc. ViRGE/DX/GX PCI" (if you install a S3 ViRGE/DX/GX card)

  35. then Windows will copy the driver files and ask you to restart Windows, 
  36. you need to choose 'OK' to restart Windows so that the new driver will take effect.
